We host our Jackson County Ole Time Festival each year at the Jackson County multipurpose arena, this is a completely covered facility with restrooms, concession stand, and horse stalls. Future plans include additional parking and recreational vehicle facilities. The parking lots are mostly paved with easy access.

The 2009 event was a huge success. The Bull riding and "Mutton Bustin" were fantastic...and as always the "Gold Rush" was super. It is our goal each year to bring to Vancleave and surrounding communities an event that the entire family may enjoy. We return all proceeds of this event back into the following years' Festival. With continued success we hope to bring many worthwhile and quality events and entertainment each year. This is only attained by the support of all the sponsors of the Festival.

This team was organized in the 1950's as a mounted Boy Scout group to perform in local rodeos and parades. They soon allowed girls on the team and became the Greenwell Springs Youth Riders.

This non-profit group has promoted horsemanship, teamwork and sense of value to hundreds of kids in the Baton Rouge area.

Each child is responsible for their own horse, tack and transportation to practices and performances. You can see them in rodeos and parades decked out in the original uniform of red and white.
